Flock Mentality
Flock Mentality is a series of full-size crocheted sheep that explores family dynamics, leadership, and the push-and-pull of group identity. Rooted in themes of oldest child syndrome and assumed responsibility, the work examines how stepping into a leadership role—whether by choice or expectation—can be both rewarding and exhausting. The sheep, at once individual and part of a whole, embody the tension between belonging and autonomy, comfort and duty. Through playful forms and textured surfaces, the series reflects on how navigating a group can be just as complicated as it is comforting.
